North Cascades Buddhist Priory is a temple of the Order of Buddhist Contemplatives. The founder of the priory is Rev. Master Jiyu-Kennett (d.1996), whose Transmission of the contemplative Heart of Buddhism we aspire to continue. The chief priest is Rev. Master Koshin Schomberg.

The priory consists of a monastic community, located in South Pierce County, and a lay congregation. Meditation groups meet regularly at the monastery, and in Seattle, Bremerton, Port Townsend and on Bainbridge Island. The priest for the meditation groups in Bremerton, Port Townsend and on Bainbridge Island is Rev. Master Teigan Stevens.

In addition to regular meditation group meetings, we celebrate Buddhist festivals, and offer overnight retreats at the monastery.

Available on this website are audio recordings of dharma talks given by Rev. Master Koshin, and his book on the Buddha's teaching of Dependent Origination.

The monastic community does not use e-mail. To contact priests at the monastery, please telephone or write:
